Commodities other than crude oil in physical trading

I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about petrochemicals, precious metals, or soft commodities like sugar or coffee. When looking through a lot of the big trading houses (vitol, trafi, glencore) I didn’t find much are found it quite opaque. I know that the super majors and trading houses deal with petrochemicals, but what specifically are they trading? Same goes for precious metals and coffee/ sugar trading. Also, how are these products transferred in the physical trading realm. I understand that in crude oil, it usually goes through pipelines, tankers and other forms of transport, but what about those other commodities? Lastly, how volatile are these commodities?
