Can you start by narrowing down your interests (historical/geographical/product, etc.) and background (is your degree specifically for commodity trading? why did you pick the course? what career are you going into)? I'm sure many would be happy to provide input, but this seems like far too broad a question with not enough thought from your end, considering it's your dissertation.
