Corporate Derivatives Trading
I’m starting a role as an equity corporate derivatives trader and am very excited. I’m curious what the ”exit opportunities” are?
Thanks

Career Resources
I'm thrilled to hear about your new role as an equity corporate derivatives trader! As for exit opportunities, they can be quite diverse. Given the nature of the role, you'll be gaining a deep understanding of equity transactions and the financial markets, which can open up a variety of paths.
While the context doesn't provide specific exit opportunities for a corporate derivatives trader, typically, individuals in this role might move into positions such as:
Portfolio Manager: Managing a portfolio of investments for a hedge fund or asset management firm.
Risk Management: Overseeing the financial risks of a corporation or financial institution.
Financial Analyst: Analyzing financial data and making investment recommendations for a bank or investment firm.
Sales and Trading: Working in a client-facing role, selling investment products and executing trades.
Private Equity: Working on deal-making and investments in private companies.
Remember, the right exit opportunity for you will depend on your long-term career goals and interests. Good luck in your new role!

The more you stay on that seat the less likely you can move to the typical S&T exits (HF, AM, LO) because it’s not that market facing. You make money on the deal, not the trading. That being said it’s a nice seat if you want to stay in S&T.
