Desk Placement Dilemma

Hi All, new to the forums but have a bit of a dilemma. I will be interning a BB this summer in S&T, and it is not a rotational program. The way it works is we meet with every desk then preference our choices and the desks preference the kids they want. (I'm sure you all can figure out the bank) Problem is, I was feeling slightly pressured to provide a desk with an answer and so I somewhat impulsively told them via email I would be placing them as number 1 on my preference list. They haven't responded to my email yet so not sure it they'll respond saying they'll be placing me number one as well or not, but I am having buyer's remorse. The more I think about it, I might actually prefer another desk. Question is, do I go ahead and break my commitment to them and place my true first choice one (and tell that other desk), or do I honor my promise even if they don't confirm that they too will be placing me number one? Obviously in a pickle here so any advice would be appreciated...
