Desks
No, this is not another "Which is the best desk?" thread. I have a question about trading desks, their structure and which products each desk is responsible for. If there's a derivatives desk, does that mean that this desk handles all derivatives of all areas? (equities, commodities, FX, FI...) Or is it a desk within another? I mean, for example, does the FI Desk trade FI Derivatives or is this a responsibility assigned to the derivatives desk?
Thanks.
Its split up by products and then by cash/derivs/exotics
EQUITIES Cash Equities Consumers Industrials Etc Derivatives Flow Derivs Index Single Stock Exotics
there is no such thing as a derivatives desk, and the equity derivs desk will usually be FAR away from a credit derivs desk (or in my case in seperate buildings).
