Differences for S&T in London and NYC
Hey people!
I would like to know, where there are big differences between London and NYC in terms of being employed at a bank/HF? What are the big differences in terms of business culture?
I've read that in London there is more OTC, Fixed Income and FX - is this true? And that NYC is more the center for banks' prop trading desks?
I will try to get an offer at a trading desk next summer. Before, I will graduate and do an internship at the FX Options desk of a European BB (6 months) and then hopefully immediately get another internship at the same bank but in London or NYC e.g. I know for certain that I would not get a FT offer if I interned in NYC. Do you think this would give you an edge though if you applied there for FT positions, compared to having done an internship in London? Like having the foot in the door?
Is it possible at all, to get an FT-offer at a bank in NYC as a European graduate?
Thanks!

Very interested in this as well , also how easy it is to transfer if you already work in London and want to go to another country
