Electronic Trading Internship

Hi friendly friends. I just got placed into a trading summer internship at a BB in the Equity Electronic Trading desk. Just want to ask for some insights into what this desk is all about.

I come from a STEM background, so I would assume they put me into this desk because the role requires a lot of coding/math/stats. It would be lovely if anyone with similar experiences in the field can share a bit or two about the job itself, exit opportunities into HF/prop trading, and whether it would help in grad school applications (namely into MFE programs).

Appreciate any insights!
