FAST and SLOW - optimum accuracy

Dear WSO,

With numerical tests is it better to get through more questions (although have a higher error rate) or get through fewer questions with a lower error rate?
This is all based on the assumption that you should not complete all questions.
What is the trade off point between Speed and Accuracy in S&T roles?

Thank you,
Freshlymintedbucks

P.S - the answer "lowest error highest accuracy is optimum" is not the answer that I'm looking for.
