FICC Trading Desks
Hey Guys,
I've tried searching google and WSO but haven't had any luck. I'm just wondering if anyone on here could post a list of various s&t FICC desks a bank would have. I know most banks have a foreign exchange desk, emerging markets, muni's etc but I'm not sure how they are usually grouped and what other desks they would have. Any help would be really appreciated.
FX, Rates, Commodities, EM, and Credit. Under each one, you'll fine cash, options, and an exotics desk
What about FX rates? Is that much different from a rates desk?
FX is foreign exchange. Rates is Interest Rates.
FX rates is probably a very bad way of saying FX forwards or STIR trading.
Aren't High Yield bonds a different desk than Investment grade and Govi's and Muni's are a different desk too right? I guess the main thing I'm looking for is just a list (doesn't have to be comprehensive) of specific trading desks at a bank.
IG and HY are different desks but fall under credit, so the guys will sit by each other (same goes for distressed debt). Govi's falls under rates trading and Muni's under public finance
But different banks have slightly different structures and ways the desks are setup
