Foot in the Door - Shed some light

Hoping someone would shed some light on how to get started in trading? What is the title for an entry-level trader? What is career path? How long between each promotion? Best firms for training and experience?

Thanks!

Most people come in as an analyst doing support work for traders. i.e. produce reports, strats. Some come in doing back office stuff like booking trades and maintaining position. From there, they work as trade assistants and learn from the traders until they get their shot.
