I hope this is the right place for this but anyway. Can anyone explain to me why Fx has the reputation of being very difficult to do well in I understand the only hedge funds that focus on it are Bacon and Soros. And what are the best desks in it today. I heard the most successful one a few years back was Bear Sterns's. thanks for the info in advance.

It's hard because it is a financial market like any other but it is easier to use excessive leverage in fx than it is in stocks. 10x leverage in FX is not unheard of
It's hard, because it's very liquid...
Any idea who has the best fx desk now? I know a few years ago it was bear stearns but not sure now.
