Hello all. For the past two years I have been an analyst at Google but have been wanting a career change. How would one be able to transition from THE tech industry to Finance? I'm really interested in trading but don't really know what's our there or where my skills would best translate to. Any thoughts?

Prop. trading typically requires a quant background. If you're a financial analyst at Google, you most likely do not have the skills for trading.

Hi all,
I am a 24-y/o working in project management at one of the fastest growing tech companies. I went into this position right out of college because I was extremely attracted to the tech industry (majored in electrical engineering from a top 15 university).
I've been here 2.5 years, and have been promoted and now run a team that I created from scratch. I feel like I've excelled at my position, and honestly feel as though I'm not qualified for the amount of responsibility I have (though, I do love the thrill of being a significant player).
While I love the company and the significance of the role I have, I have a few gripes. One is that I'm lacking some of the intellectual stimulation an engineering degree provided me. The skills I'm learning now (people and resource management) are no doubt useful, but my quantitative skills are my strongest ability, and I feel as though I am underutilizing that part of my brain. So I feel like I'm short selling myself in my career.
Additionally, as the company is growing, so are the layers of management. While it's not happening yet, I do feel as though certain aspects of my job will be taken away in the next 12 months, making it less worthwhile. My stock options fully vest in 3 years, staying here for 2-3 more years is worth it to recoup that compensation. And I think business school would be the logical next choice.
Are there any tips on how I may break into finance (and utilize my quantitative skills)? I don't have any professional experience in the field but have been a casual speculative investor for a few years (focused primarily on technology and energy sectors, holding positions for 6-18 months). I would ultimately love to work at a smaller investment management fund (not obsessed with fund size, but investment strategies that I connect with). I originally thought VC would be perfect for me, but I'm not sure how quantitative that is (compared to understanding the general macro trend of consumer habits).
Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Is MBA the right move? There are some good quant finance masters programs. Disclaimer...I've never looked into MBA programs to see if some have good quant tracks.
