FT S&T interview help

I will be applying to a few banks for FT S&T positions this summer and need some advice going into interviews. I do not have a SA position on the resume (lost my job with Bear)and I know that the majority of S&T hires come from the SA class, and that the desks choose who they want and then the holes are filled in by the kids coming from outside of the summer class. Going into interviews do you think I should say I have a preference of which desk I want to work on, or if I should express a strong interest in Sales or Trading? Or do you think I should go in there, explain I know how the desks seem to choose who they want from the SA class, and say I love the firm and am willing to work wherever they need me? Let me know what you think.
