fundamental roles at "elite" prop shops
I am interviewing for a "fundamental" analyst role at an elite market making prop shop (think Jane Street / Citadel / Virtu / etc). So my understanding is that you provide commentary / color to the traders when certain important events occur to help improve their performance.
What are these roles like? Would the traders even listen to what I say? What does comp trajectory look like? If it doesn't work out, what are the exit opportunities?
BobbybananamA, bummer your thread hasn't had a response yet. Maybe one of these threads could point you in the right direction:
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
traders have news feeds with headlines...but often ask "so, what does that mean?"
the fundamental analyst should be able to answer that question in realtime...which requires deep knowledge of a large variety of subjects.
What kind of experience/prior education are they looking for in potential fundamental analysts? Sounds like an internal economic consultant tbh.
