Global Access for Retail Brokerages

Is there a retail brokerage service that can give local currency stock / bond market access (i assume while charging some forex spread) on a global basis for an integrated retail platform? so if i wanted to buy bhp billiton shares in australian dollars or brazilian gov bonds in reais, i could open a dollar account and then they could just quote me in the local currencies, charge some spread, and handle all the cross-border servicing etc.?

if so, please tell me best options.

if not, this is a huge blue ocean space for someone to introduce a top notch easy-to-use product.

why would i be interested? exposure to foreign markets through dollar-priced nyse-traded etfs or adr's is really kinda shitty when you index it to the rout in the dollar.
