graduate position for experienced people

Hi guys,

have this situation at hand and want to know your opinions:
I networked with a MD and being told that he only has a graduate headcount this year. I passed interview with him and another senior guy on the desk, got positive feedback from both.
Now the problem is that I graduated in 2012 and have been working for another bank for about 6m. The MD told me that he had to clarify this from HR if I am still suitable for a graduate position which I think is BS since 6month won't make any difference. But I guess there's still chance that the HR might f**k me on this.

I heard that it was possible for 1st year guys to come back and take graduate interviews. Is it the real case? have you guys heard anyone take a graduate job after having been working for a while?

thanks a lot!
