Help Deciding between desks

Dear All,

I'm an incoming 2024 SA at JP/GS/MS in Trading & Structuring. I have to decide on preferences for my desk and am confused which to choose between the following:

  • Credit financing (provides securitized financing to private credit funds)

  • Corporate equity deriv. trading

  • investor structuring - rates

  • SPG-ABS

  • SSA DCM team

I know this is extremely varied but I'm new to the sector looking for some advice :). Ideally I would want to exit to private credit after a couple years or even an MBA and then look more into corp. fin. What's the outlook for these fields in the coming years and as such, what would you pick if you were in my shoes?

Apologies in advance for sounding like a total noob lol.

Thanks!

If you are set on trading specifically, GS/MS will be stronger in Corporates Equity Derivs and JPM will be stronger in SPG-ABS (difference is minuscule however). I would recommend picking one of those if you want to trade
