HFT compensation structure for coders

Does anyone know how compensation works in HFT where people trade in teams rather then individuals because of the multiple disciplines needed to execute HFT strategies? I know at places like Jump or Getco people eventually get placed into a team of 4-6 people where they fill a role depending on what their strengths are - people with a strong mathematical background do the quant analysis, financial people help develop the overall strategy, and coders write the algorithms that do the actual trading.

More specifically, if I have a strong programming background (so I'd most likely be filling the coder role on the team), am I going to be getting the same compensation as the financial or quant guy on my team? I also want to add that I would definitely be in a trading position, it's just that I'm assuming I'd be playing to my strengths and doing a lot of the required coding. I wouldn't be developing the infrastructure that runs the actual trades (they have a separate team of software devs that do that work).
