Any HY or Bank Debt traders on the buy side willing to give tips for a junior trader moving from equities to a hy/loan trading seat.
I’m in the interview process with an active fund in the hy space for a junior role on the desk. Presently I’ve been in equities at a passive index type of shop. I think the opportunity is great and I’ve always wanted to get to the debt side.
Besides just reading up on primers on the hy & loan market and polishing CFA fixed income math/strats etc. can anyone speak to their career progression and what helped them get up to speed. I love material so if anyone has books or journal recommendations I’d be willing to take you up on those.
