Highest converting desks for SA to FT (S&T at BB)

Hi, I wanted to know which desks have the highest conversion (i.e. always need new analysts every year etc), for sales and trading. My primary goal is to convert as I am aware moving around is (relatively) easy once you join FT.

Thanks!

This is so firm dependent and dependent on desk needs. When I was joining S&T, we had a ton of spots open in FICC because a lot of people had just left and the bank was pushing hard into FX stuff. Meanwhile, the equities desks were all getting hit hard by contracting revenue because it was a down year in equities volumes and MM firms were eating them up. Nowadays, with the amount of liquidity in equities, it might be different.

The most important thing is to focus on who you connect with most. If you make a good impression on everyone at a certain desk, chances are you'll convert.

Moving around is not easy first of all, very firm dependent. Secondly, this is a terrible way to think about it. You could be setting your career back 2+ years just because you wanted to put return offer first and end up in Prime Brokerage Client Coverage.
