Appreciate the insight as always. Was just curious what the comp/culture differences are at a bank like Macquarie vs a trade house like Mercuria? Or maybe the merchant side of Exelon vs a Shell trading desk?
Just curious as I'm still quite young in the industry.

banks will get you a paper book faster and have more opportunities generally because physical players are bloated with guys that stay in their seats for years
trade houses are more ruthless than banks
merchants can be REALLY bureaucratic, but it's a safer job long term
