How much carbon trading is going on?

Just curious if anyone knows how active this market currently is when looking at futures, options, and bi-lateral contracts? CCA, EUA, are some examples of the contracts.

Also, are the majority of these trades done via brokers or screen?

take a look at ICE exchange (now post brexit ICE Endex), very liquid market, all exchange cleared, no positions limits (thanks mifid2) so great for speculative trading. Look at the European green deal/Cop26, the future is to have all sectors covered by emission reduction obligations, so a lot commercial flows and a lot trading houses opened/beefed up their emission trading desk.
