How much does it cost to store a barrel of WTI crude at storage facilities in Cushing?
Are Cushing storage rates publicly available information? I see LOOP crude oil storage futures which indicates storage rates in Louisiana, looking for a similar data source for Cushing
It's not public. There are 2 midstream companies (Enbridge and Plains) who own the biggest terminals at Cushing, and they lease their tanks to other companies (tradeshops, majors). And those leases may be subject to different durations and rates. But generally, they are going to pay a sunk cost (ie the size of the tank) and a variable cost (ie what it costs to transfer barrels into that tank). So what you are looking for also differs depending on your definition of what a storage cost is - ie are you talking about a fixed cost someone already paid, or a marginal cost.
