How often do Ops speak to traders?
How much face-to-face contact to operations staff have with traders? I hear stories of them sitting on the trading floor and stories of them being locked away in a windowless basement, so was just wondering.

never. my desk is on park ave / ops are on ave of americas.
The trend is moving away from face to face with increasing use of technology. While I know some that sit on the trading floor, the majority aren't even in the same city anymore. Outskirts of NY, Charlotte, Jacksonville are seeing increasing amounts of ops guys.
Depends on the product and industry.
