How real/authentic is this scene?

"Give me guys that are poor, smart, and hungry. And no feelings." - Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko in "Wall Street"

bwahahahahaha my avatar! Frank is great. Patrick Bateman had nothing on Frank.

But clearly Monty the best line from that scene is my signature.

"Oh the ladies ever tell you that you look like a fucking optical illusion" - Frank Slaughtery 25th Hour.

she_monkeyalways wondered exactly what frank was holding in that scene.

sal said 'contracts' so i'm going to guess futures. anyone has more ideas?

Wrong, the boss asks "you still holding onto those OEX contracts" referring to the OEX, S&P 100, which doesn't have futures trade on it but does have options--used to be the most highly traded options product in the world, before SPX options came along.

From the sounds of it he just had a bunch of ATM/OTM calls on, maybe some short puts but I'd bet on the long vol play, playing for a surprise in unemployment triggering the move.

Pretty elementary when you look at the actual trading though. Not like an IB would ever go that long or short based off an unemployment number--not like, on average, an unemployment number really means that much in the grand scheme.

With the bid/offer you pay on OEX options trying to go for deltas, you need more than a day's move to make a decent buck. Try a 500-1000 dow-point move when you're putting it on in size to really try to hit a triple/homerun.

lol Sean remember when I first showed you that clip like 2 years ago and we discovered his position was like 10x bigger than a feasible open interest.

This scene was also baller. Frank is the fuckin man.

"Monty's goin to prison he's a donut big fat zero"

Was Frank dramatizing his brother's percentile using advanced charting analysis?

Frank clearly ranks his brother in the 62nd percentile, and as one can gather, that figure is extremely close to a 61.8 retracement level.

Just thought you should know.
