Industrial F500 Front Office Treasury vs BB ALM Desk

Hello All,

Currently working on the Front Office side of the Treasury at a sizeable ($5bn Revenue) industrial corporate (think infra/utilities). I manage the group's debt (fixed-rate bonds), risk management (FX and commodity derivatives) and short-term cash optimization (money markets).

I am interested in the ALM / Treasury desks at large banks and insurance companies. The job sounds more technical, stimulating (my current management is very conservative when it comes to hedging strategies) and the pay potentially better (?).

Does someone has knowledge of people transitioning from Industrial F500 Treasury to Banking ALM/Treasury ? How should you proceed ?

Also, any view on how the average compensation at BB ALM teams compares with what you could get at top tier Industrial F500 Front Office Treasury teams ?

Best wishes.
