Inter Deal Broker

Hi

Does anyone know what the exit ops are like at an Inter Dealer Broker at a big shop like BGC or Prebon, Cantor?

What is the pay like compared with S & T?

What can someone expect to make in years 1 - 5 for example?

Work for an IDB and you can expect to stay in IDB for the rest of your career. Bank to IDB is common, the reverse not so. Career progression is very flat, u r a broker regardless of your title. base salary is a little less than s&t, bonus can be multiple times s&t. Don't expect to make much your first 2 years unless you have great relationships. Sr brokers can take home up to 55%, which can be millions in a good mkt. If your product is liquid, you can expect to make 150k+ your third year.

I know an ICAP broker, who does well for himsefl (this is for you Drifter)

I honestly laugh at the thought of this guy, no college education, huge jokester, but awesome guy nonetheless making what most of the kids on this forum dream to make. While not nearly the amount of work that some of these guys do.

From what I have seen/experienced it is a hit or miss environment. It is all about the desk

Money is money, doesn't matter how you make it. The wealthiest people in the world are not necessarily the brightest.
