Interview with Volatility Fund - Associate level position

I got an interview request from nowhere for an Associate level position and I'm trying to prepare. I don't have access to the job posting anymore because it disappeared. It's a systematic/quant fund that makes money off of equity options and volatility futures.

It appears to be just an initial high-level interview. What type of background or knowledge would be useful to this type of fund so I know what to emphasize? I have some market related experience but nothing in equity. In the email, the interviewer also wants to know about my general expectations (learning, experience, and salary). Any ideas on what to say? As I'm looking to gain any experience at this point and don't mind a low salary, what's a reasonable number to say (if it even gets to that point)?
