Is stock sales doable?
Looking for feedback on whether taking a stock sales internship is worth it; I've heard that sales/being a stock broker isn't what it used to be, and am considering applying elsewhere.
For reference, I have an MSc in pharmaceutical research at a target, the desk handles biotech stocks, and doing the internship would allow me to get my Series 7 and 63 toward exiting into equity research, but I don't see many exit ops outside of that. The position is in NY at a boutique ib. Thanks
Will you be selling equities in Dallas?
I think that refers to being a retail stock broker or financial adviser. I'm just a student, but from a few conversations it sounds like institutional sales is a whole different game and as far as I know it's in decline only to the extent that S&T in general is in decline.
As far as I know, really illiquid equities still require a sales person. The main question is what kind of flow does your boutique bank really see.
Can you share your experience with recruiting as an Oxford MSc candidate? Is this an associate or analyst role?
