Lansing Trade Group

Hey guys, interested in physical commodity trading. Came across Lansing Trade Group LLC. www.lansingtradegroup.com Been doing my own research, but am wondering if anybody here knows anything about this firm, how it operates, etc? I know its not that big of a company, would getting an internship here be easier than at a firm like Cargill or Bunge? Appreciate it.

Actually, any trading company (including the big ones) are going to make an individual with no experience go thru a training program - usually a couple years. The tough part is getting into the training program. Lansing hires about 5 trainees a year. Only one or two end up making it thru - usually because they get bored and figure out they can make a little more somewhere else because the trainee program pays about $50k/yr. However, traders at Lansing with at least 5-10 years of experience that are good at what they do make a six figure salary, and can make up to a little over a million/year in bonus depending on how much money they make the company, but most traders average 200 - 500k/ yr total comp. You would have to be a total type A personality that doesn't hold back and doesn't think twice about risk. If that doesn't sound like you, it may not be a good fit.
