LGBT in s&t
Anyone know of any lgbt/queer people in S&T at their firm, especially higher up people? Not out right now at work but thinking about it at some point. The pride network seems to be mostly people in other divisions, not in sales and trading.
Also does anyone have the experience of being part of a diversity networking and having people judge you for it - "you only got this job because you did diversity recruiting" etc. Maybe i'm overthinking this
Don't want to give too much away but know of at least one MD.
Know of several people. Especially one MD that is high up (Head of Americas XYZ). And he is very open about it.
But you are not wrong that many of the people in those groups are from other divisions. In the end, people will not really care I think. Only about your work.
I can't say much about the first part but who cares when people say "you only got this job because of this...". Use any advantage you can legally get.
Anyone who says you're just there because your a diversity hire is just jealous. Once you're in the door, the job isn't that hard.
I know one VP (friend of mine) and one MD, but in IBD though - no one cares they're LGBT
