looking for advice

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on recruiting.

My background:

* Second-year Bachelor’s student (3-year program) at a top target business school in Europe.
* GPA is roughly in the top 3% of my class.
* This summer, I’ll be doing a 3-month Sales & Trading internship at a well-known European bank.
* Next academic year, I’ll be spending one semester on exchange at Wharton (my university covers the tuition fees).
* After my Bachelor’s, I plan to pursue a 2-year Master’s in Finance.

My goal is to get a Sales & Trading internship in London next summer, or any other relevant internship in the US. I know the latter is very unlikely because of visa sponsorship and the fact that my university isn’t well known in the US.

The issue is that I’ll technically be in my third (and final) year when recruiting for next summer. Most BB Summer Analyst programs are aimed at penultimate-year students. Since I’ll be starting a Master’s afterwards, I’ll still have another two years of study remaining, but I’m not sure how recruiters view this situation.

I’ve also wondered whether recruiters would view me differently if I were pursuing a one-year Master’s instead of a two-year Master’s, since that would technically make me eligible for more Summer internships.

If you were in my situation, what would you do?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has experience with European or US recruiting.

Thanks!
