Looking for insights on HSBC pls.

Applied to product specialist/trader late January. Received an email from them to complete an online test and since then.... nothing! Since then they disclosed their situation, the 35k job cuts etc... and yes macro events are not in their favor either, however it's been close to a month a half now... (job offer is in switzerland). Anybody knows what's up ? I have other interviews scheduled at other firms and they've been much more proactive so I'm fine thankfully but an email saying "something" would be welcome nonetheless! is this the standard wait at hsbc or is it unusually long?

Hey, the same happened to me when I applied to HSBC London for investment banking. They sent me multiple emails saying I met the criteria read up on the bank etc then finally sent an email saying they finished recruiting. I’m assuming it was in case anyone pulled out or something

One would expect them to communicate something! I applied to global private banking and they are apparently merging it together with retail banking and wealth management now so I guess maybe that is why this is exceptionally long?!

Ye that could be the reason, but they definitely aren’t the best at communicating with candidates anyway but best of luck!
