Lynx Capital or Chimera Securities?

Looking to become a prop trader and was pretty much shunned by the best desks such as FNYS and Trillium and so on. Also sent resumes to every single prop desk listed on these sites and no one was interested. I am really driven and feel confident that I can be a successful trader. Had a 3.2 but not huge into school but love reading about trading and swing trading in my own small account. My father was a market maker so I understand its a grind. I am either going to take a position at LYNX Capital Partners or Chimera Securities. If anyone has heard of either and has some in sight into either of them that would be extremely helpful. Time is of the essence.

Man you're really lucky you got into Chimera on the Q1 hiring cycle... they took a huge hit one day in Feb and apparently they are on a hiring freeze now... was scheduled to have an interview with them this month too :(

Hi,

How do you know they took a huge hit ? Did someone specifically tell you about that ?

On a different note, do they ask for a personal contribution for a senior trader position ?

Thanks.

I know someone working there. Was on some stock that Goldman was fading and obviously Goldman won, but Chimera almost went BK that day or something.

and no they dont require a capital contribution

Where is the risk management if they can go bankrupt in one day on some stock ? Aren't they a prop. firm with about 130 traders with almost everyone trading their own book ?

Do they offer a salary to the traders ?

Thanks.
