major for trading in london
What did new sales & trading analysts in London usually major in? Is an applied math/stats degree from oxbridge a good way to get on a trading desk (as a trader, not quant)or is something like LSE finance & economics preferred? Also, would one automatically be pigeonholed as an exotics/structured products guy with a stats/math background or would simpler products, for instance simple commodity/fx derivatives also be an option?

thanks. How about a first degree from a top tier german uni combined with an oxbridge master in maths/stats? Would that still be good enough or do they insist on a world class uni undergrad?
