Master thesis topic in trading and future career opportunities

Hi guys,

I am in my last semester of my business administration studies and thinking about my master thesis in the field of trading. I interned in the IR Derivatives department last 6 months and found it very interesting and exciting, unfortunately in the future my senior colleagues also told me that without very good programming skills you wont survive in the IR derivatives desk. Since I know my skills pretty and being honest with myself. I am not the smartes person and I am not the best programmer and I wont become either of it in the future.

I wanna know if there are some desks outside which is less quantitative and which market would you go for in the future if you are lets say not the genius (Credit, Rates, Commodities, FX). I know structured products in credit, corporate bonds, ABS, CLO or RMBS is my from experience less quantitative if I am not wrong.

So yeah generally future career opportunites where you wont be replaced by a machine if you are not the smartes person. I wanna write a master thesis which can be useful for my future career not a literature thesis where I dont learn something and just type over 100 pages and its over.

Thanks a lot! Best LZ
