Networking with traders

Hey everyone,

Currently an intern at a BB within a general finance role. I was paired up with my mentor who's a Director in Muni trading. We've been spending sometime together and hes going to be introducing me to some of the traders who work with him (equity, fixed income) as well as letting me sit next to him on the trading floor.

Any ideas on how to specifically network with these guys or try to leverage a job out of this?

Thanks in advance

2 keys, read up on the product, news affecting the product, news affecting markets in general etc. The tip above to have 30 questions is quite good, although id say try to prepare 30 questions taht cant easily be googled.

The second part is to be a fun dude to be around. Cant really be taught though so just try not to be a try hard spastic. Desperation is never a good trait.

Interesting question to ask can be asking the opinion of a trader if when volatility is high if it is a good time to sell or buy options. Led to like an hour discussion for me and some traders on this topic as it isn't as straight forward as it seems.
