New Moneymaker - Renewable Energy & Efficient Construction Projects

We have seen the downfall of what we know as Wall Street. One of the biggest bubbles has just popped - obviously residential and commercial real estate. The next bubble has got to be renewable energy. Obama is coming in and is pouring tons of money into renewable energy and projects to rebuild all our shitty infrastructure here in the U.S. If I am not mistaken this will create a GIGANTIC market for these kinds of bonds, stocks, companies, etc. This is what I believe will be one of the new moneymakers on Wall Street in the coming years. Thoughts?

Theres not gonna be a bubble any time soon for renewable energy. The spike in oil prices as well as the outrageous demand for wind turbines has spelled out the continued growth of the sector.

I worked in project finance at the #1 project finance lender this summer in their power team. It was in London, so we were looking at deals in Europe. Their system has it right. The governments there are committed to renewable energy, and have mad laws that give incentives to build wind farms. Our governemtn doesn't have that, but probably soon will. Right now if you want a wind turbine from Vestas (The leading wind turbine manufacturer) you would have to wait 3 years to get it, unless you own 5% of the company. That is the kind of demand we are dealing with here. There is no bubble, and there won't be until our country's power is generated 40% by wind

Anytime the government starts messing with the economy it tends to create bubbles, like making banks provide home loans to people who could really not afford houses. I could see the government creating incentives for all kinds of green initiatives only to have some new technology come in and make them all completely obsolete
