Off-Cycle Sales & Trading Advice

So over a period of around 6 weeks: applied - competency q's - online tests - more online tests - this automated email

Thank you for your application to the Sales, Trading & Research Off Cycle Internship – 2014 – London.

Off Cycle Internship opportunities arise at different times throughout the year. Due to this, we are unable to advise a timeline for potential interviews. We can confirm your application is still currently under consideration for potential roles, and we will contact you should an appropriate opportunity arise.

I get that these positions arise ad-hoc but would appreciate advice about what I can do (if anything) to increase the chance of interviews occurring/ expedite the process. Way I see it my options are basically a) wait b) pester the shit out of HR c) try and cold email/ linkedin/ call through to someone with seniority who will respect my tenacity so much they decide to create a position, ad-hoc ;)

I was advised to apply this way and see if a position arises. However, everything is a little complicated by the fact that I have other opportunities, but this is my preference - so I have a time constraint.

Oh, and I am gunning for a Sales position, and have stressed a preference for this (which they recommend).....
