Online trading gurus

I know for a fact that the majority of trading gurus are fake, and no hedge fund, quant, or other institution that trades securities makes money the way these gurus portray. They claim to be on the beach before market open, then sit for 3-6 hours during market hours and make 100k in pure profits, and spend their nights with 5-6 chicks. But some of them (eg. Sang Lucci and Steven Dux), are too convincing. Is there a way this minority makes money through trading? And if short term market prices are random, how on earth they are able to consistently beat the odds?
