I was approached by a trader who also identified himself as one of the new talent recruiter at a bulge bracket bank and have gone through sort of an interview as he was trying to see if I am a good fit to be his mentee. After a few rounds of calling, he offered to mentor me but demanded payment. Just wondering if this is ethical and if it is a breach of company policies? Another question is that are all traders registered as an individual on the bloomberg terminal because I have access to it and I couldn't find any information about this person. Even on LinkedIn, I couldn't see any mutual connection between this person and other people who trades the same product working in the same bank.
Each single statement in your post is a red flag. Definitely scam.
