Path after MFE

Hello,

A quick background : I have a Bachelor's in Mining Engineering and Masters in Financial engineering from one of India's top 5 colleges. Want to break into the commodity trading sector in Singapore. I do not have any close connections working in comm. trading there and have been applying to firms with minimal response and I think visa sponsorship might be a problem too. What should I do to break into the sector? Think of doing PHD in University of Singapore, have a good GRE score.

Any suggestions are welcome.
