Percent Profit Question
Wondering what industry practice is regarding this question:
I run my own fund with my own money. On Jan 1st I begin with $100 and 6 months later I make $20 profit. I then add in another $100 of my own money (so July 1st I now have $220). In the remaining 6 months of the year I make $50 profit. What's my annualized return for the year?
Thanks
70/200 ???
So 70/200 doesn't seem right since the second half of the year was when we saw the extra $100. I'm not sure if you do a weighted average?
