Phoning up companies that dont want to be phoned
Since I saw that guys thread about how his (IB/consultling but principles remain) firm screens applications, writing a Dear Sir/Madam is an instant ding. I've also found much higher rates of success when I've spoken to the recruiter first.
However I've come across a couple of companies that make it nearly impossible to get their phone numbers. I'm sure I could get it eventually, through our national telecoms provider but if a company doesnt have its number anywhere, I'm pretty sure they don't want to be called.
They are presenting at my university (i graduated 3 years ago) next month. Is it a good idea to apply before/after this, and also should I try and apply through my university? I'm looking for entry level positions but have some experience and a good story. T
