According to Exxon, Natural Gas is supposed to be the fastest growing fuel through 2040. I would be curious to read the opinions of the physical traders on this site and their views about that role.

My trader (financial) friend told me it's very hard to trade in current market as it's very oversupplied. And this will last for another couple of years.

How many threads you need to make? Not the best time for sure, that said depends what your options are. Not a great time to get into FX or rates either.

Great time for physical desks. Financial desks... well if you can survive periods of low liquidity by leveraging the competitive advantage your physical desks bring hopefully you can wait out the next two years. I hear 2016 will be interesting.

Similar to this winter and summer, basis vol should continue to outpace merc vol. Which is why you could say physical desks are doing better, that said I would not use the word "great". Once MATS and LNG becomes closer to reality you should see merc vol come back.
