Python Projects for Physical Commodity Trading?

I am a fairly non-technical person but have been ramping up on studying Python - mainly all the syntax and the main data libraries (numpy, pandas, seaborn, matplotlib, plotly). What are some basic projects that would be recommended in the context of physical commodity trading? (Automating things, etc.) Really looking to develop this as I get a sense that it can help with landing an offer.

Go on EIA.gov and get an API key. Has data for natgas, oil, power, etc. Would recommend looking into scikit-learn (ML lib for python). Could run a multi-regression on SnD and other variables that may affect the price of futures. Would also go on chatgpt to find more inspiration on this (that's what I did)

Landing an offer as what? If you are coming from a non technical background, I wouldn't expect some basic skills in python to move the needle for you. A job that requires technical skills (research, development, engineering) will be filled by someone from a more hardcore background.

Are you trying to break into trading?
