Renegotiating Accepted Offer

A couple months ago, I signed an offer from a boutique firm, assuming that my current employer would pay me my year end bonus upfront. However, my current employer has deferred a chunk of my compensation.

To be honest, it’s pretty painful to leave that chunk of money behind.

How bad is it if I talk with the new employer regarding this and asking if we could find a way to work this out?
