salary progression S&T goldman
i’m gauging between SWE and S&T. if i do SWE i’ll start at 200k->380k->500k within 10 years. what does progression look like with S&T?

i’m not sure. i haven’t gotten the position but hopefully equity derivatives
trading has the highest standard deviation within the markets space. do really well and you can make millions at VP (10 years in you’d be here). do average to below average and you are looking at 300-350K at VP level. lose money consistently and you might be a part of next round layoffs.
outside of banks, things work differently. banks have discretionary bonuses and so even though the upside is good, it’s not formulaic or uncapped. move to a fund and you will see traders taking a % of book.
