Salt Trading?
This question is a deep cut but does anyone here know whether there is a market for seaborne salt trading? I'm not talking paper and screen trading but something along the lines of bauxite/cement where you have a limited amount of sources, ridiculously low FOB costs, and are optimizing with physical swaps?
There is a subsidiary of the French Salins group called "Marine Salt" that seems to fit that description but are Cargill, Morton or Exportadora de Sal trading their cargos?
I assume when you say low FOB costs you mean comparative to other commodities, as OPEX for bauxite, cement, and salt aren’t necessarily low.
