So I've heard the whole desk got fired. Has anybody heard the same? Any reasons as to why ?

I'm not familiar with this matter, but if I were to hazard a guess, Toronto isn't the center of energy in Canada, Calgary is, and the company is currently consolidating.
Was a pretty new desk no? I think only couple years old. $4 natty, probably means they do not need more than one office. First I heard of this though.
I heard they were getting replaced, I don't think its a matter of consolidation. I've heard this through another trader friend at Scotia, but he was reluctant as to saying what happened.
I always thought that for a whole desk to be fired, a major fuck up has had to occur....

I can confirm this. Have a friend at scotia. The desk recently moved to ny, and 3 out of the 4 people on the desk have been fired. There's still some energy traders in Calgary though.
